It said in a statement that Samah Muslim was detained during the visit, adding that the guards suddenly stopped the visit after claiming that she was trying to smuggle certain things to her father. The ministry said, however, that the girl had nothing in her possession and that the prison administration fabricated the problem in order to disrupt the visit. It noted that the girl was taken away from her mother screaming and was questioned by the police who were called by the prison administration. It said that the Beer Sheba court extended her detention for 24 hours.

NABLUS, (PIC)-- Jewish settlers started a huge fire in Palestinian farmland in Deir Al-Hatab village east of Nablus on Monday burning 250 olive and almond trees, local sources reported. They said that Palestinian fire brigades managed to contain and extinguish the fire before it spread to nearby groves. The firefighters said that the fire destroyed 200 olive trees and 50 almond trees, but hundreds others were protected and saved. Jewish settlers deliberately target Palestinian plantations at this time of the year when the temperature is high so as to facilitate spread of the blaze.

Settlers from nearby settlement outpost Alei Ayin crept into the village which lies 12 miles northeast of Ramallah at 3am and set fire to car tires and threw them into the mosque, said village council head Majdi al-Naasan. Although worshipers attempted to contain the fire, damage to the mosque was serious. Settlers daubed the walls of the mosque with racist graffiti written in Hebrew. Palestinians who live near the mosque said they saw at midnight dozens Israeli occupation soldiers around the mosque, Naasan said, confirming that the incident took place under the protection of Israeli occupation forces. Alei Ayin was dismantled by the Israeli police by force because it was erected illegally. The attack has been confirmed as a ”price tag” attack, where Israeli settlers retaliate against Palestinians when Israel dismantles settlement outposts. The Gaza religious affairs ministry has condemned the crime, considering it a ”flagrant violation against the sanctity of houses of worship provided by international laws, conventions, and norms”. Since the incident, more and more Palestinians have criticized the Palestinian Authority which rules the West Bank, accusing security services of not fulfilling the ”duty of protecting the mosques”. One Palestinian man Mohammed Abdurrahman condemned the West Bank security services for the inability to protect the mosques at a time when the services have effectively persecuted Palestinian resistance fighters in the West Bank.

On Monday, the office of Lebanese President Michel Sleiman issued a statement condemning “the genocide conducted by the Israel occupation forces in the Golan (Heights) that led to the killing of 23 unarmed martyrs," Xinhua reported.

The fatalities, which included a woman and a child, occurred on Sunday when Israeli forces opened fire on protesters inside Syria as they were approaching the Syrian highlands.

The demonstrators were marching on the anniversary of the June 5, 1967 Naksa Day or Day of the Setback, when Tel Aviv occupied Syria's Golan Heights region as well as the Palestinian territories of the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, and East al-Quds (Jerusalem).

The Israeli aggression also wounded 350 people.

Sleiman's office also asserted that Israeli aggression will never coerce the Palestinian people and Arab states to stop calling for the observation of the full rights of the Palestinians, including the right to return to territories in their homeland that were occupied during the Six-Day War of 1967.

2008 estimates put the number of Palestinian refugees at over 4.6 million.

GAZA, (PIC)-- Flags have been lowered half mast in the Gaza Strip as the government has declared an official day of mourning for those killed by Israeli soldiers during peaceful Naksa Day protests in occupied Golan Heights on Sunday.

In a statement on Monday, the government declared that the victims, who included Palestinian refugees and Syrians, would share the same rights as all Palestinians.

Syria pronounced 24 dead and some 350 more injured in the Golan Heights after IOF soldiers fired at crowds to break up hundreds of Naksa Day protesters who neared the border.

Hamas has denounced the killings saying: ”We in Hamas strongly denounce the IOF's firing at tens of Palestinians and Arabs who mobilized with their bare chests in memory of the Naksa (1967 defeat), challenging the Israeli war machine with their faith, declaring their fortitude, steadfastness, and resistance until the land is liberated and their dreams of return are achieved.”

The party said that the popular movement towards Palestinian borders from Syria, the West Bank, Gaza, and Lebanon supporting the right of return marks a new stage in the conflict with Israel.

Hamas leader Dr. Salah al-Bardawil in a statement that followed the tragic conclusion paid tribute to those who offered their lives for the cause, saying that their blood has miraculously done what Arab armies were unable to do with their weapons.

“We are at a new history recorded on the Arab arena,” Bardawil said, “imposed by the new equation that the people are able to do something even without a weapon. Their weapon is faith and the right they have to their land and the ability and courage to offer blood without fearing the bullets of the Israeli occupier.”

Hamas' Deputy Foreign Minister Ghazi Hamad says the major Palestinian faction will never recognize Israel, despite its recent unity deal with the Palestinian Authority.


“Hamas still believes that Palestine belongs to the Palestinians. Hamas will not recognize Israel,” Hamad said in an interview with Press TV.

He was making a reference to the April 27 agreement between the two Palestinian main factions, Hamas and Fatah, in the Egyptian capital of Cairo to set up a transitional unity government and hold elections.

These are some good developments, Hamad said, but it does not mean that Hamas should give up its principles.

The senior Hamas official pointed to the “new strategy” that it has adopted since 2000, which encompasses “coalition with the Palestinian factions, reform of the PLO (Palestine Liberation Organization), participation in the elections, and [integration of Hamas into] the Palestinian authority.”

“We will also try to be more engaged to the international community, Arabic countries and different organizations outside of Palestine,” he further added.

Dr. Mohammed Habib and his medical and nursing team, succeeded in planting the device in Mussa Abu Sultan, who was suffering from severe weakness in his heart muscles.

A medical centre in Gaza has performed a surgical first in the besieged territory by implanting a Cardiac Resynchronisation Therapy Defibrillator device (CRTD) in a 70-year old patient.

The Hayat Medical Centre for Heart Disease, under renowned cardiologist Dr. Mohammed Habib and his medical and nursing team, succeeded in planting the device in Mussa Abu Sultan, who was suffering from severe weakness in his heart muscles.



Dr. Habib said that the device was planted under the patient's skin, a medical first for the Gaza Strip, in an operation which lasted for six hours.


A CRTD device regularizes the pumping action of the heart and protects patients with heart disease by providing an electric shock if the heart beat is irregular. The device has three electrodes, two to the right atrium and the right ventricle and the third lead in the left ventricle.


According to Dr. Habib, the operation was successful; the patient, he said, has felt no discomfort and his heart now appears to be working normally.

Palestinian Authority (PA) Sunday rejected Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's demands to recognize Israel as ‘Jewish state.’ The Israeli prime minister told London's The Telegraph newspaper that there was no basis to discuss the borders of the future Palestinian state without the Palestinians recognizing ‘Jewish state’. "Netanyahu's remarks are a continuation of the black racism and an expression of evasion and getting around international legitimacy," a PA statement said.

Egypt 13th protests day, Day of Martyrs

The protesters named the 13th day as “Day of Martyrs,” to honor fallen martyrs. They are now calling for fresh multi-million-strong marches across the crisis-hit country on Sunday, a Press TV correspondent said.

They have managed to keep their position despite a heavy army presence and attacks by pro-government thugs.

The protesters say their achievements in recent days make it impossible for them to turn back until Mubarak quits power.

Meanwhile, the Muslim Brotherhood has announced that it has started talks with the authorities.

"Keeping in mind the interests of the nation and its institutions and concerned about preserving the country's independence... we decided to begin talks to see up to what point they are ready to accept the demands of the people," AFP quoted an official from the Muslim Brotherhood as saying.

A report says the talks have already started between the two sides, while others say a dialogue between representatives of the Muslim Brotherhood and the Egyptian cabinet is scheduled for Sunday.

The opposition group says the move is aimed at examining how ready the Egyptian government is to accept the demands of the people.

On Saturday, Egyptian state television announced that Mubarak has resigned as chairman of the ruling National Democratic Party.

Senior members of Mubarak's party also resigned on Saturday, but demonstrators staging a 12th day of revolution rejected the shuffle as a cosmetic move.

Mubarak also reportedly held talks with key cabinet members to try to kick-start Egypt's economy, which has been hit hard by the ongoing protests.

Franklin Lamb told Press TV on Friday that the wave of protests indicates that embattled President Hosni Mubarak will inevitably have to give up power.

"I don't think it will take another week of protests. Today, important developments occurred at Liberation square in Cairo. Arab League Secretary Amr Moussa showed up and joined anti-Mubarak protests. Also, Al-Azhar Spokesman Muhammad Rifaa al-Tahtawi has resigned and joined the protests. He has vowed not to leave Liberation Square until Mubarak's regime is ousted," Lamb said.

His comments came as Arab League Secretary General Amr Moussa joined anti-Mubarak protests in Cairo's Liberation Square.

Speaking on the possibility of running for president, the Arab League chief said, "I'm at the disposal of my country of course. But we will see the political developments."

Moussa was quoted by France's Europe 1 radio, as saying that he was "ready to serve as a citizen who has the right to be a candidate [for president]."

Meanwhile, several thousand troops have been deployed at key locations across Cairo.

The opposition has called Friday the 'Day of Departure,' saying the planned massive rally aims to force Mubarak into stepping down. Civil groups have also called for massive protests in Alexandria and Suez.

The developments come as the government continues its harsh crackdown on journalists and media to prevent news coverage of the rallies.

In a recent interview with ABC News, Mubarak said he is fed up with being president and would like to leave office but fears there will be chaos if he steps down.

He denied that his government was responsible for the violence in Cairo's Liberation Square.

Vice President Omar Suleiman on Thursday described the calls for Mubarak's resignation as calls for chaos.

Suleiman said the government has urged all parties, including the Muslim Brotherhood, to engage in national dialog.

The Muslim Brotherhood rejected the government's offer in a statement released on Thursday.

Protesters have vowed to stand firm despite the deadly clashes that left several people dead and at least 1,500 others wounded in Cairo on Wednesday and the early hours of Thursday.

According to the United Nations, at least 300 people have so far been killed and thousands more have been injured during nationwide protests in Egypt.

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said on Friday that the recent developments in North Africa are the result of the “Islamic awakening, which followed the great [Islamic] Revolution of the Iranian nation.”

The Leader also described Mubarak as the “lackey of the Zionist regime [of Israel].”

Fans wrote to Facebook administration requesting the page's return and the protection of pages Arabs use to express admiration for resistance leaders in Palestine and the Arab world. Israel was suspected to be behind the move. Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrullah's page was removed from the Facebook social network earlier.

A Palestinian citizen was killed and two others wounded in artillery shelling by the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) at northern Gaza Strip on Tuesday afternoon, medical sources reported. Adham Abu Salmiya, the spokesman for medical services, told the PIC that the shelling targeting Abu Safiya hilltop killed Amjad Al-Za'anin, 20, and wounded two other teens with shrapnel. IOF troops had raided northern and southern Gaza Strip areas earlier on Tuesday only to be met with resistance gunfire, PIC reporter said. He added that resistance elements blasted an explosive device near IOF armored vehicles, which was followed by intensive IOF firing at Palestinian homes and farms to the east of Beit Hnaun in northern Gaza. Quds Press reported that an IOF army chopper fired a missile at northern Gaza, east of Beit Hanun, during an incursion. In Rafah, the armed wing of the popular resistance committees fired five mortar rounds at the invading IOF unit east of the city. In another development, the armed wing of Hamas, the Qassam Brigades, announced that one of its cadres died in Khan Younis while on a "Jihad mission". It did not elaborate on exact cause of the death but only mentioned that he was 23-year-old Zaher Jarghun.

A Palestinian woman's finger was severed when Israeli prison guards slammed a door on her when she was visiting her son Bilal Abbas in the Israeli Ohlikdar prison. Prison guards previously killed a Palestinian girl Rafida Badr after shutting a barrier gate on her head during a visit she made to her father. The incident was one of thousands of incidents that take place during prison family visits, the prisoner society in Ramallah said. In a separate development, Israeli authorities continue to isolate three female inmates of the Hasharon prison, the prison society said. Rights organizations have demanded their removal from solitary confinement.

Khamis Abu Rahmah suffered a fractured skull and brain hemorrhage

On 1 January 2011, 36-year-old Palestinian Jawaher Abu Rahmah from the West Bank village of Bilin died at a hospital from the effects of tear gas inhalation suffered at a protest the previous day against Israel's construction of a wall and settlements on Bilin's land. Jawaher is only the most recent protester killed or seriously injured by tear gas fired by the Israeli military. For example, Jawaher's brother Bassem was killed almost two years ago, and two US citizens, Tristan Anderson and Emily Henochowicz were injured in 2009-2010.

Much of Israel's tear gas is provided by the US company Combined Systems Inc. (CSI) located in Jamestown, Pennsylvania. The letters CSI, or CTS, a CSI brand name, are marked on many of tear gas canisters that litter Palestinian villages after they protest. The Israeli military is using CSI's tear gas as a weapon as it tries to crush the growing movement of unarmed protest against Israel's illegal confiscation of Palestinian land for Israeli settlements. Even more disturbing, US taxpayers are paying for at least some of the tear gas that Israel is shooting at Palestinian, Israeli and international protesters. For example, in 2007 and 2008, the US State Department provided $1.85 million worth of "tear gasses and riot control agents" to Israel as part of the US's $3 billion in annual military aid to Israel.

Act now by emailing executives at CSI, and at the companies that invest in CSI, the Carlyle Group and Point Lookout Capital, and tell them to stop providing their tear gas to the Israeli military, before more protesters are killed and maimed.

The Israeli military has a documented history of deliberately firing tear canisters directly at unarmed protesters, and of blanketing entire villages in clouds of tear gas whenever they hold protests against Israeli land seizure. Jawaher's brother Bassem Abu Rahmah was killed in April 2009 when he was hit in the chest with an extended range CSI tear gas canister fired directly at him by an Israeli soldier, according to B'Tselem. In the villages of Bilin and Nilin alone, 18 persons have been directly hit by extended range CSI tear gas canisters. Bilin resident Khamis Abu Rahmah suffered a fractured skull and brain hemorrhage after being shot in the back of his head. An Israeli soldier shot California resident Tristan Anderson directly in the head with a high velocity tear gas canister in a March 2009 protest in Nilin, leaving Tristan partially handicapped and suffering slight cognitive damage. New York City college student Emily Henochowicz lost her left eye when an Israeli soldier shot her directly in the face with an aluminum tear gas canister at a May 2010 protest at the Qalandiya checkpoint.

And no one knows the long-term health impact for residents of villages like Bilin and Nilin, and their Israeli supporters, who have been blanketed in tear gas at least once a week over a period of years, each time they hold their weekly protests against Israel's confiscation of their villages' land for Israel's wall and settlements.

یک هنرمند امریکایی الاصل با نام لئو باسی مدتی است کارگاه ماکت سازی خود و نمایشگاه "اگر مسیح در قرن معاصر متولد می شد" را با هدف تنویر افکار عمومی مردم جهان نسبت به جنایات اسرائیل درسرزمین های اشغالی، از امریکا به اسپانیا منتقل کرده است.
به گزارش خبرگزاری قدس (قدسنا) به نقل ازخبرگزاری رویتر، ماکت "اگر مسیح در قرن معاصر متولد می شد" که توسط لئو باسی یک هنرمند امریکایی الاصل ساخته شده است چند روزی است که در مادرید اسپانیا به نمایش گذاشته شده است.
باسی قصد خود را از ساخت این ماکت این چنین بیان می کند: مردم بدانند که حقوق بشر در اسرائیل به هیچ وجه رعایت نشده و حتی مسیح نیز اگر در این روزگارمتولد می شد مورد آزار و اذیت صهیونیست ها قرار می گرفت.
ماکت باسی که به مساحت 16 متر مربع ساخته شده است صحنه هایی از تولد حضرت مسیح در کلیسای "مهد" واقع در بیت لحم را به نمایش گذاشته که حضرت مسیح توسط نظامیان اسرائیلی بازداشت شده، محل سکونت حضرت مریم توسط بلدوزرهای اسرائیلی تخریب می شود، نظامیان صهیونیست حتی از ورود فرشته ها به اسرائیل نیز ممانعت به عمل می آورند و بزرگان دینی آن دوران رانیز به اسارت می گیرند.
این نمایشگاه تا تاریخ ششم ژانویه در مادرید برپا می باشد و علاقمندان می توانند از طریق دوربین وب کم که در نمایشگاه نصب شده شاهد قسمت های مختلف این ماکت باشند.

8 voluntiers on board of "salam" ship, are in concerning conditions , reports say people onboard the ship were refused to accessing their needs for 54 hours while are awaiting for reaching the Al Arish coast . the trip must not take so much time from Latakia to Alarish as I know.
