The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) blocked the travel of Palestinian lawyer Banan Abul Haija to Morocco to attend an international conference on prisoners.
Banan said in a statement that she was planning to deliver a statement at the conference to explain the suffering of her father Sheikh Jamal Abul Haija who has been held in Israeli solitary confinement for the past eight years.
She said that the Israeli occupation troops manning the Karame crossing with Jordan detained her for a few hours before telling her that she was banned from travel for "security reasons".
Banan said that her participation in the conference was cancelled and the delegation that was waiting for her in Amman, Jordan, left without her.
The lawyer said that the IOA arbitrary measure was part of the penal measures against her family and one of the pressure means on her father.
Sheikh Jamal Abul Haij has been held in isolation in Israeli jails ever since his detention eight years ago. He is serving a nine-life sentence and his wife and children were repeatedly held in Israeli custody.
